Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 2 (7 oz.) packages udon noodles
- 8 garlic cloves, finely minced
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped finely
Sauce Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 tablespoon sriracha
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1/4 cup oyster sauce
- 3 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice
Instructions
- Soften the Noodles: Soak the udon noodles in hot water for 5 to 7 minutes until they soften and the clusters break apart, making them ready for cooking.
- Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the water, sriracha, soy sauce, honey, and oyster sauce until fully combined and set the sauce mixture aside.
- Sauté the Garlic: Heat the vegetable oil in a wide sauté pan over medium-low heat. Add the finely minced garlic and cook for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring frequently, until the garlic becomes golden brown and fragrant.
- Toss Noodles in Garlic Oil: Add the softened udon noodles to the pan and toss them for a few seconds to coat them evenly with the garlic-infused oil.
- Add the Sauce: Pour the prepared sauce mixture over the noodles, then use tongs to thoroughly toss and coat each noodle with the sauce.
- Thicken the Sauce: Continue cooking and tossing the noodles until the sauce thickens slightly and coats each noodle well, leaving only a thin pool of sauce beneath.
- Finish with Lime and Cilantro: Remove the pan from heat and stir in the freshly squeezed lime juice and chopped cilantro to add bright, fresh flavors.
- Serve: Plate the noodles immediately and enjoy this flavorful, garlicky dish while warm.
