Cheese Mixture
- 12 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 teaspoons dried Italian seasoning
Other Ingredients
- 1/3 cup tomato sauce
- 6 ounces shredded mozzarella
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, sliced in half
- 1/2 cup fresh basil, roughly chopped
- 1 loaf rustic bread, for dipping
- Kosher salt and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly spray a 9-inch pie dish or an 8x8 square baking dish with baking spray to prevent sticking.
- Prepare Cheese Mixture: In a bowl, beat together the cream cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, and dried Italian seasoning until smooth and well combined. Spread this mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
- Add Tomato Sauce: Dollop the tomato sauce over the cream cheese mixture. Using a butter knife, gently swirl the tomato sauce into the cream cheese creating a marbled effect. Season with kosher salt and freshly cracked black pepper to taste.
- Layer Toppings: Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the top, then arrange the halved cherry tomatoes on the cheese layer.
- Bake: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15 to 17 minutes, or until the cheese is golden, bubbly, and melted through.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and sprinkle the chopped fresh basil over the top. Serve immediately with slices of rustic bread for dipping and enjoy your warm, flavorful Margherita Pizza Dip!
