Ingredients
Oreo Crust
- 36 regular Oreos
- 3 Tablespoons salted butter, melted
Layer 1 - Filling
- 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
- 5 Tablespoons salted butter, softened
- ⅔ cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 8 ounces Cool Whip, thawed
- 2 (3.9-ounce) boxes instant vanilla pudding mix
- 2 ½ cups whole milk
Instructions
- Prepare the Oreo Crust: In a food processor or blender, blend 36 whole Oreos into fine crumbs. Reserve ½ cup of the crumbs for the topping. Mix the remaining Oreo crumbs with 3 tablespoons of melted salted butter until combined. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish. Place the crust in the freezer or refrigerator for 5 minutes to set.
- Make the Cream Cheese Mixture: In a medium-sized bowl, use an electric mixer to whip 8 ounces of softened cream cheese and 5 tablespoons of softened salted butter together until fluffy. Gradually add ⅔ cup powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, mixing until smooth. Gently fold in 8 ounces of thawed Cool Whip until well incorporated.
- Prepare the Pudding: In a separate bowl, whisk together 2 boxes of instant vanilla pudding mix with 2 ½ cups whole milk until the mixture thickens. Allow it to sit a few minutes to fully set.
- Combine Filling and Pudding: Fold the thickened pudding into the cream cheese and Cool Whip mixture until completely blended and smooth.
- Assemble the Cake: Spread the combined filling evenly over the prepared Oreo crust, smoothing the top with a spatula.
- Add Topping and Chill: Sprinkle the reserved ½ cup of crushed Oreo crumbs evenly over the filling. Cover the dish loosely with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours to allow the cake to set before slicing and serving.
- Serve and Enjoy: Once chilled, cut into squares and serve. For best results, leave a comment and rating after making the recipe.
Notes
- Oreo’s: Use the whole Oreo including the cream filling for the best texture, and use a blender or food processor to crush finely.
- Cool Whip: For a homemade alternative, you can make your own whipped topping instead of store-bought Cool Whip.
- Make Ahead: This dessert can be prepared up to 24 hours in advance. Avoid prepping more than 48 hours ahead as the crust will soften over time. You can also prepare the crust and filling separately and assemble just before serving.
- Variations: Try different pudding flavors such as cheesecake, chocolate, or white chocolate for a delicious twist.
- Serving Ideas: Make individual servings in cups for easy portioning or add gummy worms on top for a fun kid-friendly version.
