Ingredients
Ice Cream Base
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- Pinch salt
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Add-ins and Toppings
- 10 Reese's peanut butter cups, chopped
- Optional toppings: hot fudge or chocolate sauce
- Depending on machine: ice and rock salt
Instructions
- Prepare Ice Cream Machine: Follow the manufacturer's instructions for your ice cream machine. Some require freezing the bowl overnight, while others need ice and rock salt to operate.
- Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, pinch of salt, and vanilla extract. Stir until the sugar is fully dissolved and the mixture is well blended.
- Churn Ice Cream: Pour the prepared mixture into the ice cream machine bowl. Turn the machine on and churn for approximately 25 minutes until it reaches a thick, frozen yogurt-like consistency.
- Add Reese’s Cups: Once the ice cream is nearly done, stir in the chopped Reese's peanut butter cups to evenly distribute them. Alternatively, save some for topping when serving.
- Freeze to Firm Up: Transfer the churned ice cream into an airtight container and place it in the freezer to firm up further for at least 2-3 hours before serving.
- Serve and Garnish: Scoop the firm ice cream into bowls and top with additional chopped Reese's cups and a drizzle of hot fudge or chocolate sauce if desired. Enjoy!
